Mechanisms of non-specific immunity in humans and animals and Chlamydia and
Chlamydophila Abstract: In the paper studies were presented in the range of non-specific immunity in humans as well as in laboratory and farm animals following infection or immunisation with bacteria of
Chlamydia sp. and Chlamydophila sp. genera. Infection or immunisation with the bacteria was demonstrated to affect activity of neutrophilic cells and MN cells, in particular the process of phagocytosis, cytotoxicity, cytotoxicity of NK cells, phagocytosis by cells of cultured cell lines and activity of dendritic cells. Also was shown to affect amount and activity of lysozyme and of cytokines, activity of myeloperoxidase and lysosomal enzymes as well as of complement components and of growth factors during infection or immunisation with the bacteria. The changes appeared already few hours after the infection or immunisation and persisted for a few days- a few decades of
